Harvard FXB is an interdisciplinary center that conducts rigorous investigation of the most serious threats to health and wellbeing globally. Harvard FXB works closely with scholars, students, the international policy community, and civil society to engage in ongoing strategic efforts to promote equity and dignity for those oppressed by grave poverty and stigma around the world.

The Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment (Harvard C-CHANGE) translates innovative research from faculty and students across the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to inform actions that improve public health today and create a more just, sustainable, and healthy future for all. Given the complex nature of today’s challenges, it is more critical now than ever that government officials, business leaders, and the public have access to sound science communicated in ways that allow them to understand its relevance to our health and wellbeing. Led by former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy and co-director Dr. Aaron Bernstein, Harvard C-CHANGE equips change-makers with the evidence and tools they need to protect our health.

 

CrisisREADY

CrisisReady provides scalable expertise in Data Readiness, Methods Readiness, and Translational Readiness, for equitable and transparent crisis planning and response. Fellows have the opportunity to collaborate with CrisisReady data scientists on projects addressing hazard dynamics, healthcare facility exposure, and population displacement due to climate-related natural hazards. Previous Fellow projects have included analysis of evacuation and sheltering activities following Gulf Coast hurricanes and exposure of California healthcare facilities to wildfire risk.

University of Colorado CLIMATE & HEALTH SCIENCE POLICY FELLOWSHIP

The Living Closer Foundation Physician GME Fellowship in Climate & Health Science Policy is a 12 month program hosted by the University of Colorado Department of Emergency Medicine. The program seeks to empower physicians through education, policy training and successful communication skills to characterize the impact of these changes on our collective health. As the first non-governmental fellowship of its kind, the program endeavors to create outstanding clinical leaders in the emerging field of climate change and health.

 

Center for communicable disease dynamics

The Center for Communicable Disease Dynamics (CCDD) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is focused on improving methods for mathematical modeling and statistical inference on infectious disease data, engagement with policy makers to use the results of transmission dynamic studies to improve decisions, and outreach to multiple constituencies to provide education about communicable disease dynamics, tools for their analysis, and opportunities for interaction with scientists in the field. The Center is led by Director, Prof. Marc Lipsitch, and Associate Director, Prof. Caroline Buckee.

One of Climate and Health Foundation’s core strategic missions is to train leaders, for today and the future. They are committed to empowering all learners, from kindergartners to graduate students, to become active participants in their world as the implications of climate change and health create an urgent need for awareness and action. In higher education, Climate and Health Foundation is offering a Graduate Medical Education Fellowship for physicians in climate and health science policy. The first non-governmental fellowship of its kind, Climate and Health Foundation partners with the University of Colorado and Harvard Medical School to empower physicians to become leaders in the field of climate change and health.
